ONE TO ONE SUPPORT
Often things can become difficult in a young person's life and there might be issues that need intervention before a solution can be found. Offering one-to-one support is often the way forward and having staff available who are non-judgmental and have extensive knowledge on issues relating to mental health, poverty, obesity, education, financially difficulties as-well as staff who can signpost to other more specialist services is crucial to supporting a young person to putting a plan together to work through their issues.
As a long established local service we are well known and respected in the community. The Youth Team, who live in the community, have built strong and trusted relationships with young people and their families. We actively identify where young people and their families may be at risk of poor outcomes and use a range of techniques to engage them in services. We work “whole family” identifying early where there is additional need and work with the family and partners in the production of an Early Help Plan to reduce the need in the longer term for higher level interventions. Staff at the Bostey fully embrace the Early Help offer available within the City and offer support to families who may need extra support put in place. Early Help can support whether its advice about managing debt, support with issues relating to their own drug or alcohol use or help to make their home safer and healthier for their children.
